CHAPARRAL 2C
The Chevrolet powered Chaparral 2C driven by Jim Hall at the 1965 Pacific Northwest Grand Prix in Kent, Washington. The debut weekend for the Chaparral 2C was a great success, Hall qualified the 2C on the pole, and won both heats. The 2C was lighter than the Chaparral 2, which had won Sebring earlier in the year, and it introduced a new two-position rear flap to balance aerodynamic downforce. During the 1965 racing season Hall continuously improved the aerodynamics of the Chaparral, making it capable of running faster and faster laps. Most of his competitors failed to figure out what Hall was doing, so the Chaparrals were almost unbeatable all season.
